(Answer any three questions)

1. ⁢(a) What is meant by ‘weaving preparatory process’?

(b) Write down the flow chart of weaving.

(c) Why yarn preparation is necessary for weaving?

(d) Briefly discuss about historical background of weaving.

2. (a) What is splicing? Sketch different types of yarn guides.

(b) Describe working principle of cone winding machine with suitable sketch.

(c) If the average quantity of weft required per loom per hr is 2 lbs and the production calculated per spindle of a modern high speed pirn winder per hr is 3 lbs. calculate the no of spindle required for supplying weft to 70 looms. The efficiency is 90% and ignore wastage.

3. (a) Define warping. What are the requirements of warping?

(b) Explain different types of creel with sketch.

(c) A stripe warp is to be prepared on a sectional warping machine with a creel capacity of 480 bobbins. There are 70 stripes in the warp, each stripe containing 30 ends. Beside there are 24 selvedges ends on each side. Calculate the number of sections to be made and the number of ends on each section.
