(Answer any three questions)

1. ⁢(a) What is Loom? Diagrammatically show the chronological development of Loom.

(b) What are the disadvantages of shuttle Loom?

(c) Write down the feature of pit and Chittaranjan Loom

(d) Find out the production/hour of a loom in which the auxiliary shaft is running at 40 rpm. There are 4 picks to the round, PPI=25, and efficiency=70%

2.(a) Define shedding. Differentiate open and semi-open shed.

(b) What is tappet? Write down the scope of tappet shedding mechanism.

(c) Briefly discuss about tappet shedding mechanism with sketch.
