(Answer any three questions)

1. ⁢(a) Define static electricity. State its theory of generation.

   (b) Highlight the problems created by static electricity in different textile processing. Suggest their remedies.

   (c) Define dielectric constant. What are the factors that affect the dielectric properties of textiles?

2. (a) Why does yarn jamming occur in fabric? How does it affect the cover factor?

   (b) Derive the equation for the case when the weft yarn remains straight, using the conventional meanings of the symbols involved.

   (c) Explain the concept of crimp interchange with the help of a diagram. Derive the equation representing crimp interchange in a woven fabric structure.
