1. ⁢(a) What is dye-fiber interaction? State the name of the theories of dye-fiber interaction.

(b) Write a short note on the following Dye-fiber interaction: i) Physical theories ii) Chemical theories iii) Solid solution theories iv) Pigment or mechanical theories.

2. (a) Briefly discuss the three transport zones of dye transport mechanism.

(b) Briefly discuss the term dyeing rate. Show that dyeing rate ∝ 1/√tex.

(c) Discuss the mechanism of dyeing.
