Level-1 Term-II, Final Exám-2022
Subject:
Physics-II (Code: PHY-103)

Time: 3.0 Hrs. Full Marks: 72
(Use separate answer script for Part: A and Part: B)

(All parts of a question must be answered consecutively)

Part: A
(Answer any three questions)

1.   (a)  Define electric field and electric field intensity.

(b)  State and explain Coulomb’s Law in electrostatics.

(c)  Find an expression for a parallel plate capacitor.

[3+5+4 = 12]

2.   (a)  What is Specific resistance? State and explain Ohm’s law.

(b)  State and explain Kirchhoff’s law of electrostatics.

(c)  There are four resistance 8, 16, 12 and 48 ohms placed on the arms of the wheat stone bridge. How much resistance is connected in series or parallel with the fourth arm for balance conditions?

[(1+4)+4+3 = 12]

3.   (a)  What is charge density and electrical dipole? Deduce the relation between electric intensity and charge density.

(b)  Show that the electric intensity is directly proportional to twice of electric dipole and inversely proportional to cube of distance to the point.

(c)  In an L-R circuit with source, the current reaches to one third of its maximum value within 5 sec. Find the time constant of the circuit.
