1. ⁢(a) What is open end spinning? Write the process flow of open-end spinning.

(b) Mention the advantages and disadvantages of new spinning systems.

(c) Write the essential features of open-end spinning process.

(d) Describe the working principle of rotor spinning machine with figure.

2. (a) Define rotor. Write the important parameters of rotor.

(b) Mention the name of some conventional and modern spinning system.

(c) What is rotor groove? State the effect of rotor groove on yarn characteristics.

(d) Calculate production/shift of five rotor spinning machines. (Assume necessary data).

3. (a) What do you mean by the spinning triangle? Discuss the effects of the short and long spinning triangles on yarn properties.

(b) Explain the working procedure of a compact spinning machine developed by Rieter.
