Part: A
(Answer any three questions)

1. ⁢(a) Define relative humidity. Write the importance of R.H on spinning process.

      (b)    What are the factors affecting the testing?

      (c)    Find out correct invoice weight of 1000 bales of cotton having 11% moisture regain. When the weight of each bale is 500 lbs.

      (d)    Analyse the comb sorter diagram and show the interquartile range.

2.    (a)    Define: Staple length, Effective length, Mean length and Modal length of cotton fibre.

      (b)    State the how we can measure the fiber length of cotton by shirley comb sorter.

      (c)    State the various parameters measurable in HVI? Briefly explain the testing principles of HVI.

      (d)    Define maturity ratio and find out the theoretical range of maturity ratio.

3.    (a)    Write the importance of cotton fineness.

      (b)    Finer the fibre, finer the yarn explain in brief.

      (c)    Show that in vibroscope method fibre fineness denier where = wave length & f = frequency of vibration.
