Part: A
(Answer any three questions)

1. ⁢(a) Define Textile Testing and Quality Control.

      (b)    Describe the objects of Testing.

      (c)    Discuss about standard atmosphere, testing atmosphere and conditioning.

      (d)    Explain quality of a product is governed by 3M.

2.    (a)    Define moisture regain and moisture content. Establish a relationship between them.

      (b)    Calculate official allowance of a blended fibre of 80/20 cotton/nylon by assuming all necessary parameters.

      (c)    Write short notes on (i) CIW   (ii) Hysteresis effect.

3.    (a)    What is meant by sample and sampling? Write the factors effecting the sampling method.

      (b)    Describe the zoning technique for cotton fibre sampling with sketch.

      (c)    Describe the procedure to take sample of yarn for different test like count, twist and strength of yarn.

4.    (a)    Define staple length, effective length, uniformity index and uniformity ratio.
