1. (a) What are the key parameters of winding? Classify the winding machines.
Mention the different Traversing system used in winding machines.
(b) What are the different types of slub catcher or yarn clearer used in winding machine? Mention the slub catcher setting for combed or carded yarn.
(c) Discuss the broken thread stop motion in winding machine.

2. (a) Describe the working principle of Cone or Pirn winding machine with sketch.
(b) Calculate the time required for winding 50,000 lbs of 60’s (Ne) cotton yarn
on 500 high speed winding drums each of which has a calculated rate of winding of 650 yds/min. The efficiency is 90% .
