1. ⁢(a) Explain the difference between crystalline solids and amorphous solids.

(b) Find the atomic packing factor of Cu atom.

(c) Find the theoretical density of Cr atom where the radius of Cr atom is 0.125nm.

(d) Draw the family of {1 1 1} planes.

2. (a) What is alloying of steel? Write the purpose of alloying of steel.

(b) Describe the BCC crystal structure showing atoms position and calculate total number of atoms per unit cell.

(c) Define atomic packing factor (APF). Find the atomic packing factor (APF) of FCC structure.
