1. ⁢(a) Illustrate the consequences of using hard water in textile wet processing.
   (b) Tabulate the difference between chelating Agent and sequestering Agent.
   (c) Describe the Ion-Exchange process of water softening with necessary reaction and sketch.

2. (a) Why OBA is called Physical Bleaching Agent? List out the properties of OBAs.
   (b) Illustrate general mechanism of Fluorescent Whitening Agent with sketch.
   (c) What are colloids? Discuss the essential differences among True solution, Colloidal solution and Suspension.

3. (a) What do you mean by textile chemicals and auxiliaries? Why is textile auxiliaries needed in textile wet processing?
   (b) Why water is important raw material for a dyeing industry? Write the standard quality parameters of dye house water.
