(Answer any three questions)

1. ⁢(a) What are production, production planning & production control?

(b) Describe the functions of PPC.

(c) Suppose a factory has 8 sewing lines and each line has 25 machines. There are a total of 200 machines and the working shift is 10 hours per day. Total factory capacity per day is 2000 hours (200 machines * 10 hours). If the factory is producing only one style (Shirt) of SAM 25 minutes and using all 200 machines daily production capacity at 70% efficiency. Calculate production capacity in pieces.

2. (a) Illustrate and explain the stages of Product Life Cycle.

(b) Describe factors influencing effective capacity.

(c) Which factors should be considered for selecting a plant location?
