Level-3 Term-I, Final Exám-2022
Subject: Automation and Control Engineering (Code: IPE 301)
Time: 3.0 Hrs. Full Marks: 72
(Use separate answer script for Part: A and Part: B)
(All parts of a question must be answered consecutively)
Part: A
(Answer any three questions)
1. (a) Briefly describe the significant role of robotics in textile industry.
(b) Explain the key components of robot with block diagram.
(c) A turn robot has 5 numbers of links and shows which are fastened together to each other by two screw joints, two revolute joints and one cam joint (contact between a cam and its follower). Determine the total degree of freedom (DoF) of the arm robot.
[4+4+4=12]
2. (a) Briefly describe articulate robot configuration with joints.
(b) Define dead zone. Which type robot configuration has no dead zone within work envelope? Explain it.
(c) Write short note on: (i) Artificial Intelligence, (ii) Arm-tooling.
[4+(1+3)+(2+2)=12]
3. (a) What are the reasons for introducing robot into a production process?
(b) Write short note on end-of-arm tooling and mechanical design of a robot.
